About this event

We will cut and remove vines from Foushee's Mill on Texas Beach.

Meet Dennis at the Texas Beach parking lot and hike 3/4 mile upstream to the mill where James River Hikers designed and installed a history sign years ago for this mill operated by Richmond's first mayor.

Dennis will bring a variety of tools. Bring gloves and your own vine cutting tools if you have them.

James River Hikers created, funded and installed a history sign at the grist mill Dr. Foushee built in 1819 and is now located on the Texas Beach Trail.

Dr. Foushee's monument was the first we cleaned July 18, 2020. Here is the meetup of our first cleaning. https://www.meetup.com/james-river-hikers/events/271769730/
